AUDITORIUM

An Auditorium with a seating capacity of 230 and a Conference Hall in the upstairs provide facility for holding National level Seminars, Workshops, Farmers' Meet and Awareness Programmes for large gatherings.


LIBRARY

The IMTI Library building is very spacious one, having a plinth area of 521sq.m, with a conference Hall in the first floor. It has a total collection of more than 18,000 books on various subjects like Water Resources, Irrigation, Agriculture, Management, Engineering, Sociology and Psychology, Computer Science and Education & Human Resources Development. Publications of CBIP,BIS, FAO, UNESCO, USDA, USDI, World Bank and other Institutional Organisations working in the field of Irrigated Agriculture are being subscribed. A small video Library with 226 cassette collections facilitates the users to view the cassettes in the Library itself for updating their knowledge on Irrigation Management.

 

SOIL MECHANICS AND CONCRETE LABORATORY

The Laboratory is well equipped with necessary equipments and apparatus for conducting various tests to provide reliable and accurate testing support and component inspection for Quality Control and Quality Assurance aspects. This lab facility inside the campus provides easy means for conducting practical sessions in the training programmes on "Quality Control and Quality Assurance" of Cement Concrete & Building Materials.

SOIL LABORATORY

The Soil Laboratory established in the Campus gives exposure to the trainees on different methods of assessing the soil moisture, soil physical properties, some of the chemical properties and the quality of irrigation water. All the necessary equipments / instruments required for the assessment of the above parameters are available in the Soil Laboratory.

DEMONSTRATION FARM

The objectives of the Demonstration Farm spread over in an area of 8.1 ha.(20 acres) of land are to demonstrate various irrigation methods, the efficacy of Farm Machineries to the trainee officers, field staff & farmers and conduct Adaptive Research Trials. The farm soil type is red sandy loam. The terrain is undulating with a mean soil depth of 3 feet. Fruit trees like Sapotta and Guava are regularly grown in the orchard area of about 4 acres under Drip Irrigation. Paddy, Banana and Vegetables are some of the crops grown in rotation.
